The Eureka GlobalStars Japan 2026 call supports UK organisations collaborating with partners from Japan and other Eureka member countries on industrial research projects. The competition aims to foster cross-border innovation, developing new products, technology-based applications, and services with strong commercial potential.
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, will invest a minimum of £2 million to fund the UK partners only. Projects must demonstrate genuine collaboration, a clear route to market within 2–3 years, and deliver economic benefit and growth for the UK.
Eligibility
Projects must focus on collaborative R&D that delivers innovative, market-ready solutions with potential for rapid commercialisation. Each proposal should demonstrate:
A clear, game-changing innovation leading to new or improved products, processes or services.
A strong business plan addressing market needs, financials, and timelines.
Significant market potential and economic impact in the UK.
The added value of international collaboration and IP arrangements.
Deliverable results within 2–3 years of project completion.

Development of new products, applications, or services with global market relevance.
Projects aligned with UK Industrial Strategy priorities.

Award: Share of £2 million.
Project duration: up to 3 years, starting by 1 July 2026.
