Introduction
The Farming Innovation Programme, delivered by Innovate UK and funded by Defra, supports collaborative R&D projects that improve productivity, sustainability, resilience, and progress towards net-zero in England’s agrifood sector.
This competition funds business-led partnerships bringing together farmers, growers, foresters, and researchers to develop innovative solutions that can be trialled and adopted across the sector.
Eligibility
To apply for funding through this competition, your project must meet all the following criteria:
Lead must be a UK-registered business collaborating with at least 2 other UK organisations.
Team must include at least one SME, one research organisation, and farmers/growers/foresters as active partners.
Partners can include businesses, academics, RTOs, charities, or public-sector bodies; international partners are not funded.
Work must be carried out in the UK and results exploited in England.
Projects must meet the scope and focus set by Defra and Innovate UK.
