Overview
This Pathfinder Challenge seeks early-stage, high-risk/high-reward projects that develop interactive Generative AI (GenAI) agents for cancer diagnosis and treatment. The agents should integrate multimodal patient data (imaging, clinical, genomic, etc.), generate synthetic medical data, and support predictive diagnosis and personalized treatment pathways, while being transparent, trustworthy, and clinically useful.
Eligibility
- Legal entities (single or in consortia) from EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
- Projects must focus on one cancer type: breast, cervical, ovarian, prostate, lung, brain, stomach, or colorectal.
- Must address both technological (data integration, synthetic data, knowledge representation) and clinical (predictive diagnosis, treatment selection) objectives.
- Requests up to €4 million; 100% funding of eligible costs.
- Projects typically run 3–4 years.
- Must comply with Trustworthy AI, explainability, bias mitigation, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
