Overview
OPIP Strand 1 supports innovations along the obesity care pathway, aiming to develop new technologies, tools, or processes that improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or management of obesity. The programme looks for projects that can integrate into clinical or care pathways and deliver measurable health impact, cost-effectiveness, or improved patient outcomes.
Eligibility
- Open to UK-based organisations (healthcare, tech, research, or industry)
- Projects should address one or more aspects of the obesity care pathway
- Innovation must go beyond existing standard practice (non-incremental)
- Must be feasible to integrate into real health systems / clinical settings
Award & Project Duration
- Award: Share of up to £85 million.
- Projects: Must be started by 1st May 2026 and finished by 31 March 2029.
