AgriScale - Accelerating Agri-tech manufacturing: Industrial Research

The AgriScale – Accelerating Agri-tech Manufacturing: Industrial Research competition is a funding opportunity delivered by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). It provides up to £5 million to support collaborative, late-stage projects that address key barriers preventing agri-tech innovations from reaching commercial acceptance and scalable manufacturing.

The competition focuses on helping innovators close critical technology gaps that limit product performance, reliability and adoption in real-world agricultural settings. Projects are expected to demonstrate how they will improve technologies so they can be proven, demonstrated and accepted by end users, while also beginning to develop manufacturing and supply chain capability.

As part of the wider AgriScale programme, this funding supports the transition of agri-tech solutions from prototype to commercially viable products, strengthening the UK’s agri-tech sector and supporting productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

Projects must be collaborative, led by a UK-registered business, and typically involve activities such as design, testing, validation and system optimisation to increase readiness for manufacturing and market adoption.
