The Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition 7 (CMDC7) is a major funding opportunity delivered by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), with investment from the Department for Transport. It aims to accelerate the development and deployment of innovative clean maritime technologies that support the decarbonisation of the UK’s maritime sector.
The competition provides funding across three strands, feasibility studies, pre-deployment trials and real-world deployment trials, supporting projects from early concept through to operational demonstration.
With up to £121 million available, CMDC7 forms part of the wider UK SHORE programme, which aims to position the UK as a global leader in clean maritime innovation and accelerate progress towards net zero emissions in shipping.
The programme focuses on technologies for vessels, port infrastructure and smart maritime systems, enabling collaborative projects that can deliver scalable, real-world impact and strengthen the UK’s maritime innovation ecosystem.
