Contracts for Innovation: ProQure - Scaling UK Quantum Computing
Award: Up to £14 Million
Programme: ProQure
Closes: 29 May 2026
Overview
The Contracts for Innovation: ProQure – Scaling UK Quantum Computing competition is a Contracts for Innovation procurement competition delivered through the Innovation Funding Service. It supports organisations to develop, build and validate integrated quantum computing hardware and software solutions that can demonstrate commercial-scale deployment and applications of quantum computing in the UK.
This is the first phase of a wider multi-phase ProQure programme, the UK Government’s dedicated programme to identify, grow and deploy world-leading quantum computing capabilities. Phase 1 offers up to £14 million inclusive of VAT, and successful applicants may later be invited to apply for phase 2 contracts of up to £75 million inclusive of VAT.
The competition is designed to help validate technologies and architectures, deploy operational testbeds for independent evaluation, and accelerate growth in both user adoption and the UK’s quantum industrial capability. It is intended to inform a future public procurement of large-scale quantum computers beyond 2030, but participation in this phase does not provide automatic eligibility for any later procurement exercise.
