Future Offshore Wind Technologies

This Innovate UK programme supports innovation in offshore wind through two complementary funding strands: Feasibility Studies (early-stage) and Industrial Research (mid-stage development). Together, they aim to accelerate the pipeline of technologies from initial concept through to commercial deployment.

The Industrial Research strand focuses on mid-stage R&D projects, supporting organisations to develop and refine existing technologies. It is designed for innovations that have already demonstrated early feasibility and now require further testing, optimisation, and validation to prepare for real-world application.

Delivered as part of the UK’s Offshore Wind Industrial Growth Plan, the programme aims to strengthen the UK supply chain and improve the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of offshore wind technologies.
